Hitting the J Curve

We hit the coveted J-Curve towards the end of 2020. All the constituents of our engine - sales, product, operations, marketing, finance, engineering, HR and strategy started to get aligned. 70% of our current team are now direct shareholders in the company, making us a unique experiment in entrepreneurship.

The average transactions per month on CBREX grew as much as 6 times in the last 5 months of 2020 as compared to the previous 4 years, indicating a 567% growth. To all our partners and customers, a big thank you for trusting us!

Phase 2

Finding the Product / Market fit

We saw success and failure but our successes outweighed our failures. This was unlike Phase 1 where failures were very high and success was sporadic. This is a key phase of our journey as we finally figured out what sells. We started building our team and 70% of our current team joined us in this period. In revenue terms, 2019 was a inflection point (3x growth)

Phase 1

Figuring it out

This is the toughest part in a startups life, also called the graveyard years as this is where 90% of startups fold up. CBREX also went though twists, turns, free fall and some climb. We were burning cash, making little or no money and completely dependent on diluting equity to survive. Basically, we were selling the future as we had nothing to show for the present.

The Launch

Launched in mid 2016, CBREX has been built by a core team of recruiting experts in collaboration with tech, product and design geeks. Like most startups, we meandered for 30 months and pivoted to our current business model by the end of 2018.
We achieved the elusive product market fit in the mid 2020 - the dreaded year of the pandemic and have been unstoppable since then. Acquiring customers at a rapid pace, we have grown 5x in 2020 alone. However, it’s not just growth that makes us happy, it is the firm belief that we are changing the world of hiring by making it a pleasure.
